Manchester Youth Zone

Part of Onside Youth Zones, Manchester Youth Zone is a critical part of the community in Harpurhey. The organisation
wanted to raise their profile and generate additional funds to
mark its 10th birthday.

What we did

SH Comms devised a PR stunt which made the young people of Manchester Youth Zone the stars of the campaign. Knowing that Youth Zone members rarely visit the city centre, despite being only a couple of miles away, the agency wanted to make a strong statement.

Working with one of the city’s most talented photographers we delivered a series of beautiful portraits of 10 young people to represent the 10th birthday, which were splashed across some of the highest profile billboards in the city centre to capture the attention of the local community and media alike.

The results

SH Comms delivered widespread media coverage across TV, radio, print and online, successfully raising the profile of the organisation. The campaign helped Manchester Youth Zone reach their fundraising goals as well as helping the charity to establish itself as a critical and high profile youth organisation for the city.
